Useful Way to Deliver a Message

Here’s an example of translating science into everyday life.

This framed towel is on a wall outside my office. The towel says U=U, which means undetectable equals untransmittable.

In other words, if somebody who has HIV and is on treatment, and has an undetectable viral load – low virus in blood – they don’t transmit virus sexually.

This towel was made in commemoration of World AIDS Day in 2018.

We had thousands made up and passed them out to people in the community.

Basically, it’s a washcloth to be used to clean up after sex.

What a great reminder. The message is there. But it’s also very useful.
