Community Testing

The US and South Korea identified their first COVID 19 cases on the same day. South Korea has begun to flatten its curve. The US has not. Here is the graph showing tests done per million people.

Even if you don’t like graphs, S. Korea obviously surpasses us in terms of testing. They have done almost 7,000 tests per million population vs. the US at 1200 tests per million.

In order to “open up the economy,” we need to know who is positive and who is not. This is not 1930, for Christ’s sake.

Speaking of Christ, unless we do more testing, the president’s timeline of opening up by Easter is, shall we say, “ill-informed” and shows an extraordinary lack of leadership.

The virus sets the timeline.

On a related matter—Iceland and Telluride, CO are launching testing of their entire populations. This will give us some answers regarding immunity, extent of infection, etc.
