Confession: Need to Get Something Off Your Mind?

One of my prized possessions, and I’m not quite sure where this fits in the collection, is a kneeler – a confessional -- that’s in my office.

For those people who grew up in Catholicism, you know what I mean. You kneel, say a confession and pray.

It was a gift from Dr. Roberto Corales, who was one of our medical directors a number of years ago. He bought it at the second-hand store across the street on Monroe Avenue.

He came in all smiles and presented me with this. We would joke about it, how if I put it in the doorway, how people would come by and kneel down and have a conversation or do a confession. I’ve had more fun with that over the years.

In cleaning out the office, I’ve been able to uncover it as well as the kneeling pad on it. Not sure where it’s going to go, but I suppose we could do another round of putting it in the doorway and see who stops by.
