Where Did COVID-19 Come From?

We know that COVID-19 is a Coronavirus family member. Coronaviruses cause about 50% of common colds and include the SARS and MERS viruses that were pandemic in years past.

We know that COVID-19 and SARS are similar in genetic make-up - COVID 19 and SARVS share about 80% of their genetic structure.

What’s my point? COVID-19 may represent the next phase in the evolution in the Coronavirus family, and, in fact, may not be entirely new.

Note that the technical name for COVID-19 virus is SARS CoV-2. It’s possible that it is just the next generation of SARS -1.
